Probably

Make UGC video ads from Claude, Claude Code and Claude Desktop

Probably is a remote MCP server, so Claude can make video ads for you. Claude writes the brief and steers; Probably's crew writes, films, edits and reviews the ad. Add the server to Claude Code with one command, or add it as a custom connector in claude.ai or Claude Desktop. Claude asks before any paid step.

What can Claude do with Probably?

Claude can make a finished UGC video ad in Probably from a brief, follow its progress, ask for changes, make variants and share the delivered video, all from the chat.

Claude doesn't film anything itself. It talks to Probably's AI creative crew through the MCP server, the way you would in the studio, and tells you what the crew did. For a walk-through from setup to a finished ad, read how to make video ads with Claude.

  1. Add the server

In your terminal, run: claude mcp add --transport http probably https://studio.probably.co/api/mcp

  2. Sign in

In Claude Code, run /mcp, choose probably and authenticate. Your browser opens Probably's sign-in and a consent page, where you choose the organization, optionally one Space, and whether Claude may start paid work after you confirm it in the chat. Over SSH, run claude mcp login probably in your shell instead.

  3. Ask for a video

Say what you sell. Claude lists your Spaces, prepares the video and shows you the preview.

The server is saved for the current project by default. Add --scope user to the command to use it in every project. Setup commands were checked against Claude Code's MCP documentation on 25 October 2026; the full steps are in the Claude Code quickstart.

  1. Open Connectors

In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors, choose Add, then Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector under Organization settings, Connectors, and each member then connects it.

  2. Enter the server

Name it Probably and enter https://studio.probably.co/api/mcp as the server address, then continue.

  3. Sign in

Under Authentication, choose Sign in now, sign in to Probably and pick the organization, the Space and whether Claude may start paid work after you confirm it in the chat.

  4. Turn it on in a chat

Use the plus button in a conversation, then Connectors, to switch Probably on for that chat.

Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan; at this date Anthropic's help article lists Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, with one custom connector on Free. See Anthropic's guide to custom connectors, checked 25 October 2026. Claude connects from Anthropic's cloud, so this route needs no setup on your machine.

Can you use an API key instead of signing in?

Yes, where nobody can open a browser. Create a key in Settings, Connections, put it in PROBABLY_API_KEY, and add the server with the key as a header: claude mcp add --transport http probably https://studio.probably.co/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $PROBABLY_API_KEY". Claude Code saves the header in its configuration, so treat that file like the key. A key that may spend must be limited to one Space with a spend cap. See authentication.

  • “List my Probably Spaces, then make a 15-second TikTok for our reef-safe sunscreen in the Trail Space.”
  • “Show me what that will cost before you start anything.”
  • “Go ahead, and tell me when it's delivered.”
  • “Make three variants with different hooks and send me the share links.”

Is there a Claude Code plugin?

Yes. Probably's plugin adds the MCP server and recipes for jobs such as testing five hooks for a product, turning a winning ad into a brief, and checking on your videos. In your shell, run: claude plugin marketplace add probablyco/probably-plugins, then claude plugin install probably@probably. Then run /mcp and authenticate the plugin's probably server. See the plugin docs.

Which tools does Probably's MCP server offer?

The app can read your Spaces and videos, prepare and revise ads, steer the crew, answer a video's storyboard and voice check-ins, approve and share deliveries; only confirm_spend and fix_word start paid work.

An app is offered the tools its permissions cover: reading, making changes, and starting paid work. Every tool, with its inputs, is in the MCP tool reference.

Does the agent spend my credits on its own?

No. Paid work is prepared first, shown to you with its cost, and started only by a separate confirm_spend call after you agree.

  1. Prepare

A prepare tool, or a stage such as research, answers with a preview and a confirmation. Nothing is spent.

  2. Look at the preview

It says whether your credits cover the work, or the cap a stage can charge, and whether it uses the free first draft.

  3. Confirm

Once you agree, the app calls confirm_spend. It starts exactly the work the preview showed. Confirming twice starts it once.

A connection that may not spend still prepares work. Its answer carries a link to a page in the studio where you see the same preview and confirm it yourself. Whichever you choose when you connect, the same credits, spend caps and free first draft apply as in the studio. See spend confirmations.

Confirmations expire, so a stale preview never spends. Names, briefs and messages reach the app as content, not instructions, and nothing anyone writes can confirm a spend. Revoke a connection any time in Settings, Connections; its next call is refused.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude make video ads?

Claude writes and steers; Probably makes the video. Connect Claude to Probably's MCP server and it can start a UGC video ad from a brief, follow it and revise it, with the crew doing the filming and editing. It asks you before it spends.

Does it work in Claude Code, claude.ai and Claude Desktop?

Yes. Claude Code adds the server with claude mcp add; claude.ai and Claude Desktop add it as a custom connector. Both sign in to Probably with OAuth, and each steps through the same tools.

Which Claude plan do I need?

For claude.ai and Claude Desktop, custom connectors depend on your plan; see Anthropic's help article for the current list. Claude Code adds the server with a command.

Can Claude spend my credits without asking?

No. Every paid step is prepared first and shown to you, and only confirm_spend starts it, after you agree. Without the spend permission, you confirm in the studio instead. See spend confirmations.

Does connecting Claude cost anything?

Connecting is free. Work the app starts uses your credits, as in the studio, and your first draft is free with a new account; see pricing.

How do I disconnect Claude?

Revoke the connection in Settings, Connections. Its next call is refused, and an admin can revoke any member's connection.
